The University of Findlay to Host Global Economic Summit

The University of Findlay will host a Global Economic Summit 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, at Winebrenner Theological Seminary. Sponsored by GreaterFindlayInc., the Findlay Publishing Co., the Hancock County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Rocket Ventures and the University, the event will feature presentations from leading executives from the business and automotive sectors, including an opening keynote address from Roy Armes, President and CEO of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. Three sessions, featuring a variety of panelists, will examine the important role of global business in creating local opportunities for our region, especially in an uncertain economic environment.
Planned discussion topics include:
- The Global Automotive Sector’s Impact on Ohio: How linked are we to the global economy? (9:30 – 10:45a.m.)
- Blending Cultures: What we can learn from the experiences of Japanese executives managing Ohio companies (11a.m. -12:15p.m.)
- Blending Cultures: What we can learn from the experiences of non-Japanese executives working in Japanese-owned Ohio companies (2 -3:15p.m.)
- How Should Students be Preparing Themselves for Opportunities in the Global Business Sector? (3:30 – 4:45p.m.)
